Devil's Lake State Park (or, Welcome!)

I've always been slightly intimidated by a blank page, so obviously the inaugural first post on the Pilcrow blog has been a little daunting, and only slightly procrastinated upon. But don't worry, with summer coming to it's close and the cool winds of fall finally blowing some comfort into my hot-house of an apartment, I can actually sit at my desk without sliding out of my sweat-slicked chair thus providing you with the photo adventures I am sure you have all been waiting for with baited breath.

And with that being said, I present to you my exploits from Devil's Lake State Park this past June. A couple friends and I decided that we needed a break from life's stresses and jumped in the car for a quick camping session in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Mix-tapes were made, jalapeno kettle chips were bought, and the boxed wine ran out way too soon. We ended up hiking about 4 miles through rocky terrain and steep inclines, as well as dip in the eponymous lake and of course s'mores roasted over our self-made fire. All in all, an excellent mid-summer adventure that refueled the spirit and got me pumped for more camping expeditions this fall; obviously, with camera in hand.
